I always have mixed emotions when an ex- Terrapin star comes to town to face the O’s or Ravens. When Stevie Francis was with the Knicks how could one ever root against him when NY played the Wizards. Root against Steve Blake, Juan Dixon, Shawne Merriman, Shaun Hill, Vernon Davis, Darrius Heyward Bey, Chris Wilcox?—-NEVER. So last night with his pitching career being scrutinized closely, I was hoping former Maryland closer, Breet Cecil pitched well for 6 or 7 innings and maybe leave at a 0-0 score. Not last night—2 runs against Jason Birken were all Toronto needed in a snooze of a game. I spent most of the night talking about Maryland with fellow Terrapin zealot, Avi Pelta, owner of the James Pharmacy.
