Terps Ready for Winston Salem State–Alma Mater of Earl Monroe

Winston-Salem State University is 2-6 in 2009.  The Rams are led in scoring by 6’2″ senior guard Brian Fisher at 12.1 pts per game and 6’5″ junior forward Shelton Carter chipping in with 11.9 pts. a game. Winston-Salem was once coached by Hall of Famer Clarence “Big House” Gaines who won 828 over 47 seasons including 18- 20 win seasons. The great Earl Monroe graced the Rams uniform.  In Earl’s senior year at Winston-Salem in 1967 the 6”3″ guard out of Philadelphia averaged an amazing 41.5 points a game and earned NCAA College Division Player of the Year honors and led the Rams to the NCAA College Division Championship.
