Lacrosse Candidate Analysis #1: Cottle Disciple, Ex-Terrapin Assistant Paul Cantabene Could Be What The Terps Are Looking For

Current Division III Stevenson  Head Coach, Paul Cantabene certainly appears ready to move up Coaching ladder and the question is can he return Maryland to the elite status we all yearn for.  Paul is considered by many lacrosse experts to be one of the best faceoff men ever to play the game. When you speak of the Professional ranks, everyone remembers the Championship Bayhawk teams with Gary Gait , Tom Maracheck, etc. but the real key to the team was the dominance of the face off by Paul. He has translated this ability to his College coaching. His teams are tough, quick, dominant and very offensive minded. He has been at Maryland as a coach and knows and understands success at maryland is only measured by Titles. He has transformed Stevenson College into a major D3 power almost instantly. He has recruited a first line attack that could play for most D1 schools. Can he take the Terps to the next level? That is the tough decision facing the search committee. Would he leave his dual role at Stevenson as Coach and Assistant AD? Take a look at his bio from Maryland in 2003 Cantabene could very well be the right guy at the right time!!!!
