AD Kevin Anderson Proposes to Eliminate All Contests vs Georgetown if Deal To Bring Back Men’s Basketball Game Fails to Materialize

For many years Maryland and Georgetown refused to end their their stalemate over the location of the next game between Georgetown and Maryland. The story goes like this: on November 26, 1993 Gary Williams played what he believed was a road game at US Air Arena in Landover , Md. (The coming out party for Joe Smith as Maryland won a thriller 84-83 in overtime. 20 years later Maryland has never received the return home game either at Cole or Comcast. Though friends, Gary and Coach Thompson refused to end this long feud.

Well Maryland AD Kevin Anderson wants it ended ASAP. There is no line in the sand. Maryland wants to establish a home and home series with the Hoyas, one that would produce tremendous revenue for both schools. Kevin Anderson is willing to discuss any proposal however. But if Georgetown will not come to the table then Maryland will not compete against the Hoyas in any other sport. Brenda Frese has signed on agreeing that the Men’s rivalry must be renewed.
