Attackman Matt Danowski totaled six points, including four in the final three minutes, while goalie Adam Ghitelman recorded 20 saves as the expansion Charlotte Hounds stunned the Major League Lacrosse-leading Chesapeake Bayhawks, 13-12, much to the delight of a raucous crowd at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Goalie Kip Turner registered 17 saves in a losing effort for Chesapeake, which had a five-game winning streak snapped. Attackman John Grant Jr. joined midfieldersSteven Brooks and Michael Kimmel in totaling three points apiece for the Bayhawks, who remain in first place with a 7-2 record. It was U.S. Army Night at Memorial Stadium and Charlotte attackman Jeremy Boltus, a West Point graduate and second Lieutenant, highlighted pregame festivities by swearing in a large contingent of new recruits. Boltus then led the Hounds onto the field carrying an American flag.
