The Pro Active Stance of Dr Loh and Kevin Anderson
It all started with Maryland exiting for the Big Ten. Then the dominoes started to fall. For those of you who second guessed the decision, the events of the past few days have left no doubt upon the correctness of the move.
I suggested such a move back in February 2010, witness this letter to the Diamondback (http://www.diamondbackonline.com/opinion/editorials/article_af2a5589-43a5-5f08-a6a9-287ad68c4d43.html). After Nebraska was chosen as the Big Ten’s 12th member, I was uncertain whether further expansion would occur, but it has and College Park is thankfully part of it. For academics, athletics and finances, this is the best thing to happen to the university in decades, and will benefit the campus and state for a long, long time. The ACC was a fine conference, but this was the only league I’d have left it for.
