Jimmy Reed and Charlie White Named to ALL ACC Baseball Squad

Maryland senior lefthander Jimmy Reed and redshirt sophomoreCharlie White were named to the 2013 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Team, the league announced Monday.

Reed, who finished 6-4 with a 2.33 ERA, and White, who led the ACC with 39 stolen bases and hit a team-high .350, were named to the second team. It is the second straight season Maryland has had a player named to the All-ACC team after Brett Harman earned the honor last season.

Maryland’s Friday night starter, Reed posted career highs in wins (6) and strikeouts (74), and ranked 10th in the ACC in ERA (2.33), while ranking eighth in strikeouts. He is one of six ACC pitchers to throw two or more complete games this season and one of six pitchers to throw a complete game shutout.

White finished the season highly ranked in several offensive categories. He led the conference with 39 stolen bases, ranked fifth with 75 hits, finished eighth with a .350 batting average, and ranked 10th with a .449 on-base percentage.
