  • Lacrosse’s Greatest Rivalry renews for the 111th time as No. 3 Maryland (9-1) heads to Homewood

    Field to face No. 8 Johns Hopkins (6-3) on Saturday, April 12. Faceoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.

  • The Maryland-Hopkins game will be broadcast live on ESPNU and streamed on the WatchESPN app. Eamon McAnaney will handle the play-by-play call, while Mark Dixon will provide the expert analysis.
  • The game between the Terps and the Blue Jays can also be heard on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network’s flagship station, CBS Sports Radio 1300 AM in Baltimore and surrounding areas. Steve Stofberg (Maryland ’94), the voice of Terrapin lacrosse, will handle the play-by-play, while 2004 All-American Tim McGinnis provides the analysis.
  • Maryland will have had 10 days between games by the time the Terps take the field at Johns Hopkins. The Terrapins last played on April 2 in a 19-6 victory at home over Robert Morris. Junior Jay Carlson tied his career high with five points on four goals and an assist to lead the Terps, which also got a career-best four points from junior Joe LoCascio. Senior Mike Chanenchuk continues to lead the team this season with 37 points on 25 goals and 12 assists. He is followed by freshman Matt Rambo, who has 25 points on 21 goals and four assists. Junior faceoff specialist Charlie Raffa has won 97-of-154 (.630) faceoffs this season with a team-best 65 groundballs. Senior Michael Ehrhardt has made a seamless transition to the long-stick midfield spot and has 36 groundballs, which leads all non-faceoff men, and a team-best 21 caused turnovers to go along with two goals and an assist. Senior Niko Amato has started every game of his college career (60 straight) and boasts a 6.92 goals-against average (3rd in the NCAA) with a .591 save percentage (6th in the NCAA) this season.
  • Johns Hopkins is 6-3 on the season following its impressive defensive performance in a 13-8 home win over Albany last Friday. Sophomore attackman Ryan Brown leads the Blue Jays’ offense with 41 points on 30 goals and 11 assists. Junior attackman Wells Stanwick is the team leader in assists with 29 and has 11 goals to total 40 points. Senior Eric Schneider has started all nine games in net for Hopkins and has an 8.90 goals-against average and is saving 52.9 percent of the shots opponents have put on goal. Junior faceoff specialist Drew Kennedy ranks fourth in the NCAA in faceoff win percentage with .659 on 139-of-211. He is also third in the nation in groundballs per game with 10.56 (95 total).
