The football season is going disastrously for Michigan. Brady Hoke’s job already was in jeopardy — and then the Wolverines went out Saturday and suffered a historic, 30-14 loss to Minnesota.
How bad was it? Michigan is now 2-3 (0-1 in the Big Ten) and lost for only the fourth time since 1968 to the Gophers. And, for the first time, Michigan has lost three games before September ended.
People are starting to look around for Hoke’s successor and, when they do, their lonely eyes fall to Jim Harbaugh. His San Francisco 49ers are off to a disappointing 1-2 start, but he’s a Michigan alum and what people are remembering is his success at Stanford.
But now comes another report. Michigan is interested not in the lesser Harbaugh but in the one who has a Super Bowl ring, Baltimore Ravens Coach John Harbaugh. After all, he beat his brother in that Super Bowl.
