Wisconsin sits at 4-2 after a 10-point win over Illinois at Camp Randall Stadium. All four of the Badgers’ wins have come in Madison, while their two losses have come on the road at Northwestern and at a neutral site game in Houston against LSU.
A second team All-Big Ten selection in 2013, Melvin Gordon has emerged as one of the best runners in the country this season. Gordon is averaging an astounding 7.9 yards a carry and his 174.3 yards per game is tops in the country.
Joel Stave started at quarterback against the Illini after Tanner McEvoy had helmed the Badger offense for the first five games. McEvoy has passed for five TDs and 653 yards, while Stave has thrown for one score and 187 yards in his two games.
Junior wide out Alex Erickson leads the Badgers in re- ceptions (27) and receiving yards (319). Senior tight end Sam Arneson also provides a threat for Wisconsin with 14 catches for 228 yards and two touchdowns.
Gary Andersen became Wisconsin head coach after the 2012 season and led the Badgers to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the Capital One Bowl in 2013. Andersen ar- rived from Utah State where he led the Aggies to an 11-2 record and a top-20 national ranking in his final season.
