#2 Field Hockey Rolls over Hoosiers 8-2 in Bloomington

The second-ranked Maryland field hockey team (14-2, 6-1 B1G) cruised to an 8-2 victory in its first-ever trip to No. 19 Indiana (9-6, 1-6) Friday. The Terrapins have won nine straight games over the last four weeks.

Seven Terps scored in the win, as junior Anna Dessoye scored twice and notched an assist. Seniors Maxine Fluharty and Welma Luus each picked up a goal and an assist.

“Our goal was to start the game with a dominant mentality and that we did today in Bloomington,” head coach Missy Meharg said. “Maryland seemed to have 360-degree vision, which made early choices obvious and shots on goal plenty.”

Dessoye wasted no time getting Maryland on the board as she sent in a penalty stroke 3:20 into the match for a 1-0 lead.
