#5 Terps Complete Perfect (18-0) Inaugural Season in Big Ten with 68-48 Victory over Northwestern

Brenda’s squad has done it again. Imagine losing 2 time ACC POY Alyssa Thomas, and not missing a beat the following year. The Terps end the regular season at 27-2 going into the BIG TEN tournament.

Led by Brene Moseley’s 18 points, the No. 5 Maryland women’s basketball team wrapped up a perfect inaugural season in Big Ten play, beating No. 25 Northwestern, 69-48, Sunday afternoon.

“Words can’t describe right now how we’re feeling,” said head coach Brenda Frese. “I’m so proud of this group. When you talk about making history with a team that had a lot of unknowns going into the season, with a new conference, all new teams, and they continue to separate themselves every day. It’s going to be a team that I’m always going to remember; you’re talking about something I’ve never done.”

In its first season in the Big Ten, Maryland went 18-0 in conference play. The Terrapins are the third team in conference history to go undefeated in Big Ten play, and the first team since the 1998-99 season.
