Sophomore Colin Heacock posted a career-high four points and nine different players scored as the No. 3 Maryland men’s lacrosse team defeated Robert Morris, 13-4, Tuesday evening.
The top-ranked defense in the nation had an excellent first half, holding Robert Morris scoreless on just seven shots attempted. Maryland took advantage offensively, scoring nine first half goals and never looking back.
Heacock opened the scoring by picking up a loose ball in front of the cage and finishing a point blank shot to give Maryland the 1-0 lead. Henry West then scored a pair of goals from the wing, as the Terps took a 3-0 lead into the second quarter.
The Terps continued to display their offensive prowess in the second quarter, posting six goals to open a 9-0 advantage. Gribbin scored a pair of goals in the frame to lead the way, while Jay Carlson, Matt Rambo, Dylan Maltz and Heacock also found the back of the net. from umterps.com
