Duke 68 Wisconsin 63

Bo Ryan after the loss to Maryland—

On staying in front of Maryland’s guards:

“We didn’t do a great job with that. Sometimes it just comes down to a guy being quicker or better. [Dez] Wells and [Melo] Trimble are better off the bounce and we were trying to take that away. Again, we know we are going to give up some because of their ability, we aren’t going to shut anyone out, but if you’re not making shots at the other end it makes it hard.”

Grayson Allen and Tyus Jones were just too quick for Wisconsin

Wisconsin committed 13 fouls in the 2nd half—and never got to 1 and 1. REALLY

It was pointed out to me very early by the “Big Dog” that hand checking fouls were waived in the game by any ACC team. Bo Ryan said as much afterwards.

Justice Winslow must not have touched the ball with his fingertips. REALLY?

And now you know why I never watched an ACC team until tonight. Thank heavens we are in the Big Ten.

By the way Coach K have some guts and come to College Park next year. Maryland and Duke both came in 2nd in their conference. The game is supposed to happen but we know Coach K will never come back to College Park.

Turned game off mid first half and 5 into second.
Seems all Duke flagrants are inadvertent as well as the obvious hand checking as well.
And the dummies on the telecast know that you are not permitted to speak ill of K’s favoritism.
Wisconsin title was stolen. Good hard nosed old school bball was not rewarded again.

unlike most md fans who dislike duke i watched the game not caring who won or who lost. the refs were lousy..both sides got bad calls.

wisconsin isn’t a “tough” team. you saw that when md played them. checko, all 205 lbs of him, stood up big frank in the lane and could not be moved. wisconsin is a finesse team. all year long the college game has been physical. nothing changed last night.

duke made plays and t jones was sensational in the second half. grayson allen, the x factor, came off the bench and made a great contribution for the dookies. who stepped up for wisconsin other than big frank? decker..not last night. he did not make one shot beyond 2 feet from the hoop.

wisconsin never took advantage of okafor’s foul trouble. it’s not like they pounded the ball inside when plumlee was on the court.
i put that on bo ryan. he got out coached. then he cried the blues in his post game interview.

to the md fans who act like immature 12 yr olds when it comes to talking about duke. grow up. you want to play with the big boys, act like a big boy.

next yr could be md’s yr.

I hate Duke as much as anyone but agree with Freddy on this one. Refs were bad for both teams, Duke just wanted it more. Wisconsin up 9 with 13 minutes to go and Winslow & Okafor on the bench, no excuse not to stretch the lead and take over the game.

Also, shouldn’t MD be at UVA in the challenge next season? Would think it should be home and home for each match up and the game was in College Park this year.
