Dez Wells Invited to Play For Wizards Summer League Squad

Guard Dez Wells officially joined the Washington Wizards Summer League roster today. The announcement made by the Washington Wizards has the former Terp and first team All-Big Ten selection poised to make his NBA debut at the Las Vegas Summer League next week.

The heart and soul of a Maryland team that finished with a school record 26 regular season (28 victories overall) in its inaugural year in the Big Ten, Wells averaged 15.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists as a senior.

The Wizards’ Summer League team will begin practice on Monday, July 6 in preparation for their first game on Saturday, July 11 against the Phoenix Suns at 6 p.m. EST on NBATV.

Wells, 23, will have the opportunity to play in a minimum of five games in the single-elimination tournament. The Las Vegas Summer League runs from July 10-20 – with all games held at Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion.
