Bernlohr, Rambo, and Pat Young Lead Terps to 5th Final Four in 6 Years Crushing Syracuse13-7

Observations of a great day in Providence:

This week I talked to so many “experts” who said Syracuse could be the team to stop the streak. Paul Carcatera was gushing when he spoke of how Cuse was on the rise and how Maryland was so unlucky to have to play the Orange in the quarterfinal round. So I put on my thinking cap and remembered that in Tillman’s 1st year at Maryland we heard the same garbage before Maryland defeated Cuse in the quarterfinal game 6-5 on a great OT goal by Grant Catalino. The 2 years later Maryland went to the Carrier Dome and was trailing 3-2 in the 2nd quarter. The Terps proceeded to score 10 straight goals and win easily.

Therefore, I know how the Terps had been playing winning 14 in a row and I was supposed to be scared of playing Syracuse, the might ACC Cgamps. Gimme a break. I might have thought the game would be closer then 13-7, bur NEVER did I waiver on beating Desko’s guys. And beat them, the Terps did, relatively easily.

On Terp Talk on Wednes day night, i stated that my hunch was that Pat Young was ready for a breakout game. 4 goals on 5 shots says it all.

I repeat again Rambo was snubbed by the Tewaaraton Committee. Matt had 4 goals and 2 assists as well as 2 GBs.

But the star of the day was Kyle Bernlohr coming up with 16 saves. 16 saves. Dylan Maltz scored 3 times against his former teammates

The Terps lost 15 of 24 face offs. But when they were really needed, Will Bonaparte grabbed 5 of 6 in the 4th quarter.

Now its on to Philadelphia to face the Brown Bears.
