Rambo 1 G 6 Assists Leads Maryland To Championship Game Defeating Brown 15-14 in OT

Matt Rambo was incredible Saturday afternoon, as he capped off a thrilling OT victory waith a super assist to his running mate Colin Heacock to win in OT. I have been complaining about the snubbing of Matt Rambo. If you could not see the reasons why today, you don’t know much about lacrosse.

The Terps squandered a 4 goal lead in the final 6 minutes based mainly on being dominated at the face off x. Brown scored 4 times inside of 6 minutes to tie the game.

Matt Dunn (nicknamed the Beast) besides nailing a 3/4 field shot against a 10 man ride, also came up with the key ground ball in OT that eventually led to victory.

Once again the Terps dropped the face off battle 20-12 and the ground ball war 39-37.

The overwhelming favorite to win win the Tewaaraton, Dylan Molloy actually played for Brown with a brken foot. He contributed 2 inspiring goals.

As expected Brown play a style of ball the Terps had not seen this year, but as Lars Tiffany (Brown Coach) said post game, the Terps never got rattled and credited Coach Tillman for having them well prepared.

Tillman went deep into his bench playing a majority of the players on the team, in order to deal with the sweltering heat.

What’s amazing about this game was that Brian Cole and Pat Young were quiet today a situation I can almost guarantee will not be the situation on Monday.

Kelly, the Brown goalie, made a series of 4 saves in the 3rd period that kept Brown in the game.

It was as an emotional win that I can remember in my recent Terrapin lax days easily rivaling the semi win vs Hopkins last year.

Enough for tonight. My anticipation for Monday started on the ride home.

Let’s get it on Tar Heels.
