New Mexico State Transfer WR Teldrick Morgan, Joins Terps for 2016 Season

Maryland head football coach DJ Durkin announced that wide receiver Teldrick Morgan has transferred to Maryland and will be eligible to play immediately as a redshirt senior in 2016 after having graduated from New Mexico State.

Morgan, a Hanover native that starred at Meade High School, played in 20 games with 19 starts over the last two seasons at New Mexico State. The speedy 6-foot, 190-pound wide out led the Aggies in receiving during each of those years, posting 120 catches for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns.

“Teldrick brings a great deal to our program and we’re excited that he’s a part of our family,” said Durkin. “It’s always great to bring a local kid back home, and on top of that he’s very skilled and brings a wealth of experience to our receivers unit.”

Morgan had a sensational sophomore season, hauling in 75 catches for 905 yards and seven touchdowns. He garnered 2014 Second Team All-Sun Belt recognition and was named to the 2015 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, which identifies the most outstanding receiver in college football.

Also a dynamic returner, Morgan joined current Terp William Likely on the 2015 Paul Hornung Award Watch List, which recognizes the most versatile player in major college football. Morgan ranked fifth in the Sun Belt with 1,361 all-purpose yards in 2014.

Morgan graduated from New Mexico State in May with a degree in criminal justice.
