Henrik Stenson Shoots 63 to capture the Claret Jug—Mikelson
I guess Lefty would have thought if he shot 65 the Open Championship would be his. He shot 65 but it just wasn’t good enough. Stenson captures his 1st major at age 40.
This was riveting golf for 14 or 15 holes for the competition and riveting for Stensen’s performance over the last four holes. Phil was phenomenal and I honestly didn’t think he had it in him to play 4 rounds of that quality on the same weekend. He pushed Stensen to a remarkable achievement.
