Disastrous Day for The Locals–Terps Collapse in Final 6 minutes to Lose to Nebraska—Ravens Virtually Don’t Show Up and Get Blown out by Bengals

Terps

You rarely see a Terrapin squad collapse in the final minutes at home, but that’s what happened Sunday. An utterly spectacular 26 point performance by Freshman guard Kevin Huerter went by the wayside in the final 6 minutes as the CornHuskers, down 65-53 scored the last 14 points.

Coach Turgeon took the heat for loss saying his team had not prepared properly for a 1-3-1 defense.

Give Nebraska credit for 2 consecutive road victories at IU and Maryland.

16 turnovers and 11 assists usually does not bode well.

Tough day for Ivan Bender, scoreless in 16 minutes. But it was great to have Damonte Dodd back in the lineup. I assume if he is healthy he has regained his starting role.

Next up Michigan on the road on Saturday. The Teeps are 1-1 in conference.

RAVENS

Mike Preston stated after this pathetic performance by the Ravens that although he will definitely be back next year, the clock is ticking on John Harbaugh.

This game was so bad, it was hard to watch. Harbaugh had made a specific point about ending the season on a high note, but the team must not have gotten the message. This is something we have rarely seen under Harbaugh’s tutelage.

I would be shocked if OC Marty Mornhinweg is retained and rumor has it that DC Dean Pees might announce his retirement at age 67.

Many Ravens probably will be released but I’ll get into that on Wednesday with Dennis Koulatsos.

For the 3rd year in 4 we will have to sit and watch the Ravensless playoffs and what could have been.

Redskins

Lost to the Giants 19-10  and are gone from the playoffs. Now the big question is what will Danny do about QB Kirk Cousins?

It is utterly frustrating to see Melo dribble down the middle with 4 players guarding him while his teamate (Kevin Huerter) is open in the corner for a shot. He does this time after time, especially in crunch time at the end of the game. This will not get him into the NBA. So far he has shown the basketball IQ of the average 13 year old kid in a rec league game. Am I the only one able to see this? Is Turgeon afraid to coach him? Hit the open man. Ugly basketball and do not deserve to win like this. Will not win until Trimble learns to share the ball.
