Noah Boykin Joins Terps

A post by Jordan

The DMV to UMD movement can’t be stopped! The Terps have grabbed their 6th DMV recruit over the last twenty days, and the second one in the last nine from DC powerhouse Woodson High School. Our latest get is defensive back Noah Boykin, yet another three-star. Boykin is highly ranked for a three-star, placing in the top 500 in total player composite rankings. He is ranked as a four-star recruit by 24/7 sports.

The Terps fended off some serious competition for Boykin, including offers from national powers Clemson, Oklahoma, USC, Georgia, and Big Ten rival Michigan. This was somewhat of a surprise commit to many, in an interview he gave with Scout in mid-June Boykin spoke positively of Michigan saying he wanted to visit with them, and that he would announce his top ten later in the summer, he committed before doing either.

Boykin’s greatest strength is his size and athleticism. He is known as a ball hawker who can cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time because of his speed and length. Boykin is looking to graduate early from high school, if he succeeds in doing so and arrives at College Park early he may be an instant contributor to the team. Boykin is a good player with huge upside, look for him to climb in the rankings.

Out of 15 total recruits in the 2018 class, Boykin is the Terp’s 12th 3-star. It’s also worth mentioning that out of the 15 in the class, only 2 are from outside the DMV. At this point we can say the UMD to DMV has worked, the Terps are in absolute control of the area that they have wanted for so long.
