A Dismal Day at College Park—UCF 38 Terps 10–BP COMMENTS

Some random thoughts after a depressing day:

This QB injury problem has haunted the Terrapins for years. Watching many games tonight, there were very few where the QB running was not part of the offense. DJ faced the question Post Game, and said it was a scrambling play in which Kasim was injured. Is it time for the Terps to go with a drop back passer and have the QB always take a slide or throw the ball away and thus avoid contact?  Look it was 3rd and 13 and Kasim had a little daylight, he probably thought maybe I can make a cut or 2 and get the 1st down. I really don’t have an answer, but here it is just 3 games into a 12 game season, with 9 conference games coming up and we have to put our hopes in a 3rd string QB who was beaten out by a freshman for the back up role.

No doubt, DJ has his hands full, with 6 days to get #18 better prepared. I firmly believe that #18 will play better and Walt Bell will design a game plan more suited to his talents. But give them a chance to grow Max, with 2 road games at Minnesota and Ohio State, this will have to be  a quick learning curve for Max.

No team looks unbeatable in the Big Ten. But the gauntlet would sure look better with Tyrrell at the helm. We have not heard anything definitive on Kasim Hill’s injury, but let’s hope for the best. But for the time being, I would expect Max will be running the ball much less then QB1 and QB2. But then again maybe not.

Keep the faith. DJ can Coach and lead us back.
