Around The Horn on a Winning Sports Filled Sunday w BP

Good comeback by the Terps Sunday, as an excellent Robert Morris team put a little scare into the #1 Terps in the first half. I never lost any confidence in this one as I have seen the Champs come out flat a few times –then get recharged at halftime. Connor Kelley and a long list of Terps fueled the 11-5 turnaround in the 2nd half.  Notable was the face off play of Austin Heningshen, the wing and groundball play of Matt Neufeldt and the stellar assist contribution that Anthony DeMaio made in the 2nd half. So the Terps move on to the quarterfinals for the 7th time in Tillman’s 8 years to face Cornell a 10-9 winner over Cuse who finishes the season at 8-7.

The lady Terps crushed Denver to advance and play Navy next week in the quarterfinals at College Park.

Johns Hopkins overcame a 5 goal deficit to defeat Georgetown 10-9 in OT. Hats off to the Hoyas Coach Kevin Warne for engineering a 12-5 turn around season. Hop moves on to face Duke in the 2nd game of the doubleheader in Annapolis.

The ACC went 1-3 in the opening round and the slighted Big Ten went 2-0. Where was Rutgers!!!!!!!!

The “hot” Notre Dame squad lost to Denver 9-7.

The Caps crushed Tampa 6-2 and moved to a 2-0 advantage in the Eastern Finals, still without Nicholas Backstrom. What a tremendous Coaching job by Barry Trotz.

Webb Simpson ran away fron the field in the Players Championship and finished at 19 under, a 5 stroke victory.

Orioles 17 Tampa 1 as the finally the bats have come alive. Manny once again had 3 hits for the O’s. Dylan Bundy pitched 7 shut out innings.
