As many sports columnists have now given Lefty a pass on his disgraceful performance on Saturday, let it be said don’t include me on the list. To me it is incomprehensible that he wasn’t immediately dq’ed and he created some idiotic story about it being a logical move. A lot of golf fans like myself wait all year for Fathers Day to enjoy time with the family and then be mesmerized by the final day of the US Open. On Saturday Phil didn’t bend the rules, he downright cheated by intentionally hitting a moving ball. He insulted the game and more important let down his legions of fans, including myself. Then the ultimate insult was laughing it off afterwards.
Many have just given Lefty pass, and I am not advocating the end of his career but he owes the golf world a huge apology and needs to admit that he royally messed up. Because that is the truth.

Totally agree! A cheating move. Probably a reaction from frustration and anger, but nevertheless, a cheating move. Also agree, made light of it and laughing during interviews, not acceptable.
