How Maryland Honored Jordan McNair Against Texas

While the Terps beating Texas was great for many (including myself), the more important business was to properly honor Jordan McNair. The Terps had several tributes to the former Terrapin lineman.

The #79 Flag– The Terps came out waving a red flag bearing Jordan McNair’s number of 79. They would have this flag every time they left the tunnel.

A Moment of Silence- Before the game there was a moment of silence at Fedex Field as Terps and Longhorns alike honored Jordan.

Ten Man Play- During the first play of game the Maryland offense lined up with the right guard spot empty. The Terps let the play clock run out for a delay of game which Texas then declined.

Locker Room- Maryland set up a locker for Jordan McNair in the home locker room.

Jersey- The Maryland captains took Jordan’s jersey to midfield with them to start the season. The same jersey was later seen being held up my Sean Christie this video. When asked about if this game was Jordan, he replied “everything is for Jordan”.
