Quick Early Observations After Media Day for Basketball

Bruce Posner – I say this with total confidence–barring injuries this 2018-2019 Band of Terrapins will not disappoint. From what I saw yesterday at practice, Maryland is solid through at least 10 men in the lineup, maybe 11.

Coach Turgeon has put together perhaps his most talented team in his 8 years at Maryland.

Cowan is now a Junior leader, he will not have to play 36-40 minutes every game, Eric Ayala will be a more then adequate backup at point, Cowan is surrounded with much more shooting talent then last year even with Huerter leaving. More assists for sure, less wear and tear, and maybe a few less points.

Syracuse’s loss is Maryland’s gain with the addition of Eric Ayala. Eric is a tough, typical Big Ten guard at 6’5 and 205 pounds of muscle.

Bruno seems to be on a mission and his time at the NBA combine and private workouts I am sure will improve his game.  Jalen Smith said being guarded by Bruno is like being triple teamed.

As we know, Sticks has great inside moves and smooth shooting moves for a 6″10 Freshman. He just loves life at College Park so far and is more then excited to be playing with his St joe running mate, Darryl Morsell.

Darryl Morsell looks in great physical shape and his shot is tremendously improved.

Serrel Smith Jr, Aaron Wiggins, Ricky Lindo Jr will all get playing time and were all impressive.

Trace Ramsey is a smooth left handed shooter and if the team can run and gun, he will get his shots and deliver daggers.

Don’t forget about Joshua Tomaic and SR Ivan Bender. This team is loaded.

Much more on Terp Talk tonight at 6PM.
