Caps Pummeled By Boston Bruins 4-1

The Bruins outplayed the Caps from the opening face-off. Tin Thomas was unstoppable but Boston just had so many better looks. Ovie was about the only Capital playing well. There is a huge gap between these 2 teams.

Though I am no hockey expert, this is a different, far more exciting team inder Coach Dale Hunter.:

Captain Coach Killer (Ovie) could have had 5 goals if he just finished last night. Look out when he breaks out of the scoring slump. his game is still on a different level, the only problem is that the puck is not finding the net.

Tomas Vokoun was stellar tonight turning back shot after shot during several stretches of the final period.

It’s utterly amazing the nature of the Caps crowd. When Tom Greene unleashes the fury, the arena erupts like few other crowds I have seen.

Great seat in the club section tonight, purchased on the Season Ticket holder list of tickets.

Let’s see a hot dog, nachos, and diet Coke—my high protein meal came in at $18.50. Attman’s needs to open a stand there.

I am continued to be impressed by the Brooks laich line that includes Joel ward, and Jason Chimera. All out all the time.

I guess I picked the right game to go to!!! Nicholas Backstrom scored the equalizer and winning goals , but it was the furious play of Brooks Laich (3 assists) and Joel ward that triggered the comeback. Maybe it was just a funk that all of the Capital superstars were in, maybe from the 2 losses on the road. But after Tom Greene “unleashed the Fury” on the jumbotron, the crowd and the team came alive. Tuesday night and there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. Much was made of the key moment benching of #8, but Coach Boudreau just believed it wasn’t Alex’s night and Boudreau was correct. The Caps are now 8-2 overall and 6-0 at home.

Yes, Randy and Mark Bond it’s a damn good start but the Caps need to play like this at the end of the season not just the beginning. I hope Leonsis is proven right for sticking with Boudreau after last year’s playoff disaster.

Dennis Wideman scored in OT as the caps continued their mastery of Pittsburgh in the regular season. The fight was another story. Arron Asham decked Jay Beagle of the Caps and then humiliated him afterwards with a few insulting gestures. Payback will be awaiting Asham.

Please don’t ever criticize Baltimore sports fans. For an absolutely meaningless hockey game, they filled The First Mariner Arena Tuesday night. Nashville shut out the Caps 2-0.

NHL hockey ventures into Baltimore for one night and the Capitals will play before a sold out arena. Hopefully, the game leads to the return of minor league hockey to Baltimore but most experts believe that the Civic Center is not even fit for the minors!!!!! Caps Coach Bruce Boudreau was a member of the Baltimore Skipjacks in 1984-85.

Only incredible saves by Michael Neuvirth kept this game respectable. Who is to blame for the 3rd period breakdown by the Capitals. Please don’t talk about lucky goals. Tampa thoroughly outplayed this superstar laden franchise. Will Boudreau take the fall if the Caps get swept? How can he not? Meanwhile there is no quit in Ovie. Something has to change with the Regular Season wonders.

The Capitals left their goalie Michael Neuwirth hanging alone in the wind during ot as Tampa notched a 3-2 victory putting the Caps in danger of another failed playoff run.#8 tied the game with 1 minute left in regulation, giving Washington the supposed momentum to even up the series. The Caps got caught in a line switch allowing Tampa a 1 on none fast break and the rest is history. Who takes the fall for the loss?

Hmmmmmmm–Let’s just hope this was an aberration. has anyone sighted Backstrom. #8 must have skated 20 miles Friday night. The power play looked out of sync. The caps blew a 2-1 lead at home. let’s get to the next game on Sunday.
