INEXCUSABLE!!!!! O’s Blow 4-0 Lead Again –Lose 3 out of 4 To LA

July 5th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

I will tell you what is inexcusable. Saturday night in the bottom of the 7th with the score tied at 4 (after blowing a 4-0 lead), Nick Markakis and Brian Roberts could not decide who should catch an easy pop up. A simple “I’ve got it” by one of them would have done the job. [...]

Pie, Salazar Lead’s O’s To Greatest Comeback in Franchise History Erasing a 9 Run Deficit to Defeat The Red Sox 11-10

July 1st, 2009 · 1 Comment · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

I was at the O’s game last night. After 3 1/2 innings with the Birds losing 9-1, being surrounded by Red Sox nation, with a thunderstorm lurking, I decide I had enough and left. Fast forward to 11PM or so. I could not bear to watch the game after getting home until Danny Matta texted [...]

36000 Watch Lester Continue Mastery Over The O’s as Boston Cruises to 4-0 Shutout Win

June 30th, 2009 · No Comments · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

Red Sox Nation invaded Camden Yards last night and Oriole fans present were forced to suffer through a shutout loss to Lester who moves to 8-0 vs Baltimore.  JD Drew was a double short of the cycle for Boston and the only Oriole highlight in a dismal effort was a home run stealing catch by [...]

Wigginton Saves Then Blows Game in 7-6 Loss To The Marlins

June 23rd, 2009 · 1 Comment · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

—First things first. The crowd at Land Shark Stadium was announced at 10,200. On TV it looked like there were a max of 2000 present and in the late innings about 600.  I’m not sure iI would be building a new stadium for this team. —Who is to blame last night Ty Wigginton for an [...]

Trembley Finally Getting It–O’s Sweep Phillies 2-1 Behind Guthrie

June 21st, 2009 · 1 Comment · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

Can we all see some light at the end of the tunnel. There is nothing like a 5 game winning streak to awaken sleeping fans. I like the tweaking of the lineup and substitutions Trembley is making. Everyone seems to be participating in the resurgence of this team. Now if we could play the NL [...]

June 20th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

This is a time to praise Dave Trembley. He is beginning to push the right buttons. The O’s staged a gallant 9th inning comeback to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies last night 6-5 as Brian Roberts smacked a 2 run dinger with 2 out in the 9th. Sherrill closed out the game for his 14th save.

June 20th, 2009 · No Comments · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

From the mid 80’s until the day Andy MacPhail was hired the Baltimore Orioles were one of the most dysfunctional franchises in sports.  But for the first time in many years Orioles fans have something to look forward to.  The farm system which has been ignored ever since Jerry Hoffberger sold the team in 1979 [...]

O’s Falling Into Hitting Abyss—Shutout by A’s 3-0

June 7th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

It’s getting impossible to watch as the O’s hitting failures continue.  Let’s hope it just road show blues. The team returns home Tuesday night against Seattle, the start of a 9 game home stand.

Hail MacPhail–We Have a Baseball Team in Baltimore Again–Luke Dominates Wieters Debut Game

May 29th, 2009 · No Comments · Baltimore Orioles Baseball

Camden Yards was alive like I have never seen it. Yes I am saying it was hopping much more then the 2 free agent playoff years under Davey Johnson. This team is now for real. The pitching is suspect but much less then season’s start. But with the arrival of Matt Wieters, the O’s seemed [...]
