After an internal investigation, Memphis is denying all accusations of a SAT cheating scandal involving Derrick Rose . I guess it’s possible that Calipari was clean. The John Calipari Memphis Story is just beginning!

From zagsblog comes the news that X is wavering about his Kansas decision. So where might he be considering: Kentucky of course with the Carpetbagger himself, John Calipari. Remember Kansas was Lance’s first choice but then again Lance is not a guy to play second fiddle. Has anybody ever questioned why it is that Calapari gets any player he wants.

Meanwhile in the Lance Stephenson front: a couple of intriquing articles on Born Ready: from Yahoosports.com comes the question how can Lance still be available? Matt Bracken’s has some interesting takes on Maryland basketball.

Lance Unlikely To End Up at Arizona According to Arizona Daily Star

The Arizona Daily Star reported today that the chances of Born Ready becoming a Wildcat are slim. Coach Sean Miller seems set on his 3 recruits according to the article. I am not sure who is left in the picture for Lance, but I expect we will know more June 15 when Greivis’ NBA decision must be made. I have said over and over again, a carpetbagger like John Calipari never changes his ways. He has thoroughly wrecked teh Memphis Basketball Program and now has escaped to Kentucky leaving Josh Pastner in possession od all the dirty laundry. The rumored cheater is Derrick Rose, now a member of the Chicago Bulls. This info from zagsblog.com culminates with “Memphis could be forced to vacate its Final Four appearance from that year, making Calipari the only coach to have forfeited two Final Fours. He forfeited his 1996 appearance with UMass.”

I would only hope that once and for all Lance Stephenson knocks out Memphis from his consideration. This would never happen under the Maestro, Mr Williams!!!

Let’s check out the travels of Lance, otherwise known as Born Ready.

Memphis–Latavious Williams, 6’8″ PF from Abilene Texas, has committed to Memphis and has declared he wants his buddy Lance with him at Memphis.

Arizona– Jarrid Famous wants out of South Florida, according to zagsblog.com. It seems Coach Stan Heath forgot to tell the 6’11″ Famous that Byron Samuels,the coach who recruited him is gone. Remember this the same Stan Heath who stole Gus Gilchrist from the Terps by hiring Gus’ guru. Famous most likely wants to go to Arizona. Lance still hasn’t visited Zona, and it seems like there is no love between the 2 camps.

Europe—Terrapin Times reports that sources with Lance are talking about an European excursion for the one and done Lance.

Maryland–Lance Sr, better known as Stretch, stated over a month ago that they wanted to see what happened to Vasquez. I still believe that Stephenson will commit to the Terps if Greivis does leave. Why? Because it just makes sense!!!

Lance Stephenson Back In Maryland’s Picture-Is Born Ready, Ready To be a Terp?

Just when we had written off Lance Stephenson from the Maryland picture, his Dad announces in USA Today that the choice for his son is down to Maryland and Arizona. This is after the Terps had been written off weeks ago with Adam Zagoria saying his sources said Gary’s system was too rigid for Born Ready. I said that was hogwash then and I stand by it now. While it might be true that maybe Lance wanted Kansas or Kentucky 2 better rated players chose these schools–Xavier Henry to Kansas and John Wall to Kentucky , home of the Memphis deserter Calipari.Now remember I said rated better. Arizona again would be a major mistake for Lance, being buried in the Pac 10 with no exposure, with a new coach, and certainly not surrounded by veteran players like the Terps have.

No matter how Lance feels, Maryland remains his best option for next year. Apparently Gary has remained in contact, never being deterred by all the rumors. With Kentucky and Kansas out, Arizona and Memphis just the wrong choices, Maryland is where the kid should go, though I have said this way too often.
