Pitch Gonzo and you will lose. What a horrible loss last night!!!!I know it’s early but good teams never blow 5-0 leads especially against the Yankees. THIS GUY gregg has show me nothing so far. In game one against Tampa Markakis saved his butt with a great catch. Last night — first pitch–dinger to Posada. Gonzo just doesn’t have it–how many games will he lose befrore we throw the towel in.

Here is the bottom line–There is a buzz back in Btown about the O’s. Everywhere you go that is what the folks are talking about. It’s been a long time and I hope it is not just a fleeting moment in time.

Keep Brian Roberts off the 20 steal mentality. Give him a bonus if he has none. He is the glue of the lineup. remember last year his return to the lineup somewhat coincided with Buck’s return.

It really seemed like outside pitch after outside pitch were called for strikes tonight against the O’s.Normally mild mannered Nick Markakis lost his cool and was tossed from the game.

The bullpen was stellar last night. I find myself watching intently as if the O’s are in a pennant chase. Some thoughts:

What a great call to have Adam Jones lay one down to secure the victory.

Simon will fall deeper down the bullpen rotation if he continues to serve up gopher balls.

Markakis is now the leader he was always supposed to be.

It was great to settle in to my sofa after returning home from the National Sports Collectors show, to watch the final 4 innings of the O’s Games. Guthrie and Wiggy led the way yesterday. And yes, that is the New Markakis being a leader by example. 5 out of 6 for Buck!! For a guy who is bitter over not being selected as the new Skip, Rick Dempsey still displays his love for the O’s.

Winning is always great!!! In the middle of the 5th , I hear Tillman has a N0-N0 going and that the O’s have gone deep 3 times against Mr Invincible Cliff Lee. Unfortunately the no hitter ended with 1 out in the 7th on a cheap ground ball hit but Tillman threw a gem and the O’s won!

I only post this because I doubt if many of you stayed up to watch this. No one knows what to say anymore. The absence of Brian Roberts is killing the offense. Gonzo is out for at least 3 weeks, so there is no closer and let’s face it when he returns there probably still is no closer. Markakis got his 1st RBI last night, Adam Jones his 2nd. Fear not, it must and will get better–I just don’t know when and I doubt if Trembley knows either.

Andy MacPhail made the right move. I am never in favor of managerial moves just for the sake of a move. Look how disastrous it has been for the O’s. The demise of the Birds this year was based on the dismissing of George Sherrill and Aubrey Huff. Joe Torre could not have won with this team. Dave Trembley has been given a 24th hour pardon. He knows what needs to be done. With the exception of Markakis and Wieters, any of the non pitchers are expendable. WE NEED A #1 starter and now a closer. We proved this year you must have a #1. Trembley knows he must deal with the baserunning blunders, the overall lack of fundamentals, but he must have more pitching . Its wins and losses now , in effect it’s Judgement Year for Dave and the GM. Say the Orioles finish at 61-99 –were there 20 more wins available this year. the answer is a resounding yes. 81-81 must be the goal next year. Then 2011 will be our year. I believe Trembley is the guy who will take us home.
