#2 Lady Terps Hold off Georgetown 14-12 on the Road

Brittany Jones and Sarah Mollison each scored 3 goals and Caitlyn McFadden contibuted 4 points as the Terrapins defeated its 3rd top ten team in the past week.  Brittany Jones picked up the first of Maryland’s four unassisted goals in the game’s opening play before Amanda SpinnenweberSarah Mollison and Laura Merrifield netted scores, continuing to show the Terps’ balanced attack. Jordy Kirr netted a pair of goals for Georgetown as the game sat at 4-2 before Brandi Jones connected on a free position shot to give Maryland a three-goal lead with 11:15 remaining in the period. Karri Ellen Johnson extended the Terrapin lead to four with a goal off an assist from Caitlyn McFaddenwith a little over eight minutes left in the first half. The Terps move to 5-0. Next up New Hampshire at 1PM at he Field Hockey Complex.
