One more scholarship has opened up with the not so unexpected departure of Steve Goins from the Maryland program. Terrapin times reports that Goins will most likely transfer to a smaller D1 school near his home of Chicago. With the transfer of Braxton Dupree, the possibility that Greivis does not return and the serious injury to Jerome Burney, this increases the importance of the recruitment of big man DeShawn Painter. Painter has his choices down to 3 ACC schools, Virginia Tech, NC State, and Maryland which will be his final visit next week. DeShawn is a 6’9 power forward from Hargrave Military Academy.
