Likelihood of Greivis’ Return Increasing

It’s funny when the season ended, the early word was that Greivis was 95% certain not to be coming back to Maryland. Things change!! According to a terrapintimes.com interview with Coach Williams, the maryland guard would need to be in the top 20 of players selected in the draft, an unlikely scenario.  “I think from everything I have seen so far, not that he isn’t good enough to play in the NBA, but I think that if Greivis does come back he should be First Team All-ACC in preseason,” said Williams, saying that would improve Vasquez’s stock in next year’s draft. “I don’t think there’s a guard in the league better than Greivis going into next season. Hopefully, he’ll have the opportunity to show that.” Gary also expressed disappointment in the lack of Maryland’s mention in the highly ranked teams for 2009.
