Syracuse Repeats in Lacrosse, After Cornell’s Coach Makes Major Blunder

Syracuse won its 11th NCAA Title Monday, socring with 4 seconds left to tie the game and then winning in overtime on a goal by Cody Jamieson. “This is our time of year, simply put,” said Kenny Nims, who was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. “This is why we go to Syracuse. The tradition of our program is extremely rich. This is what we’ve been waiting for all year and this is our time.” After the way Cuse won, I am believing luck and destiny belong exclusively to John Desko. With a one goal lead, possession of the ball and his long-pole in trouble, Cornell Coach Jeff Tambroni inexplicably did not use his final timeout to protect his team. The rest was easy as Cuse stripped the long-pole of the ball and then benefited from a tipped passed right into Kenny Nims stick and a relatively easy tying goal.  41000 watched the game  in Foxboro presenting an easy attendance target for Baltimore to shatter when the Championship returns to its rightful home in 2010.
