#9 Women’s Soccer Suffers First Loss of Season to #5 FSU

Its winning streak came to an end, but the University of Maryland women’s soccer team proved that it deserves to be among the top programs in the nation this season with a tough 2-1 loss at No. 5 Florida State Thursday night.  “We competed hard tonight, and our kids should feel good about their performance,” said Maryland head coach Brian Pensky. “Florida State is an outstanding team, yet we leave here feeling like we left points on the board. Trailing 1-0 , Jasmyne Spencer scored on a floater to tie the game for Terps. Goalie Mary Casey had 4 2nd half saves to keep the Terps within 1 goal. Next up at Miami on Sunday afternoon.
