#7 Wrestling Team in Elite Competition at the Midlands

After a more than two-week break from competition, the University of Maryland wrestling team returns to action Tuesday at the Midlands Championships in Evanston, Ill. The two day tournament features some of the best competition from across the country, including wrestlers from the top two ranked teams in Iowa and Iowa State. The 47th edition of the competition features wrestlers from 11 top-25 teams in all, as well as four individual NCAA Champions and three NCAA runners-up. All ten Maryland starters will compete, and five have been seeded. Steven Bell and Alex Krom earned the four seed at 133 and 141 pounds, respectively; Kyle John is the fifth seed at 157; Mike Letts is the three seed at 174; and Hudson Taylor earned the highest seed by a Maryland wrestler – No. 2 at 197 pounds.
