Monica Wright showed why she is one of the best players in the country as she totally took over the game at College Park to lead UVA to victory. Freshmen Tianna Hawkins had a strong effort for Maryland scoring 18 with 10 rebounds. Brenda Frese commented on Wright’s performance after the game: “Like we talked about in the locker room, it was the Monica Wright show in the second half. Obviously she was unstoppable. She just really put her team on her back and it was very difficult obviously. We couldn’t find a way to be able to stop her.”
