27 NFL Teams Represented at Pro Day at College Park

The grades won’t be known for about six weeks but 12 former Terrapin football players took a big test on Wednesday afternoon.

Approximately 35 representatives from 27 NFL teams descended on the University of Maryland campus to evaluate the draft-eligible Terps in speed, agility and strength during their annual Pro Timing Day. Offensive lineman Bruce Campbell and defensive back Nolan Carroll attended last month’s NFL Combine in Indianapolis, and running back Cory Jackson (Senior Bowl), defensive backTerrell Skinner (Senior Bowl) and defensive lineman Travis Ivey (Texas vs. the Nation) saw action in postseason all-star games  But for former players Phil Costa, Jared Harrell, Josh Horton, Jamari McCollough, Richard Taylor, Chris Turner and Anthony Wiseman, Wednesday was an opportunity to enhance what they’ve done on the field over the last four or five years.

Nolan Carroll, who did not participate in drills at the NFL Combine, was impressive during his workout. He posted the top marks in the 40-yard dash (4.39), pro agility drill (4.21) and L drill (6.81).  Carroll also did 17 reps on the 225-pound bench press and had a vertical jump of 37 1/2 inches.

A number of former players came out to support the Terps at Pro Timing Day, most of who are currently playing in the NFL. Faces in the crowd included Vernon Davis (San Francisco), Josh Wilson (Seattle), Eric Ogbogu,Jeremy Navarre (Jacksonville), Edwin Williams (Washington), Andrew Crummey (Jacksonville), Moise Fokou(Philadelphia) and Kevin Barnes (Washington). from umterps.com
