Juan Dixon and Point Guard Heir Apparent Adrian Bowie Going Toe To Toe at Comcast

It’s pretty clear that Monrose alumni and Terrapin Senior Adrian Bowie will be running the show at Comcast next year. And who better to prepare him then the Legend himself , Juan Dixon. According to terrapintimes.com the 2 have had some ferocious battles in pickup games at Maryland.

first i don’think bowie is a lock to run the point. secondly if bowie wanted to get beter playing the point how is going against dixon going to help him. what can dixon teach bowie about playing point. dixon didn’t handle the ball well at md and couldn’t make the change to point guard to play in the nba. bowie would be ebtter getting help from johnny rhodes, walt williams, steve francis, steve blake rather than dixon. bruce your comments here make no sense. and what you said on the radio show that stu vetter says bowie can play the point means nothing. he’s not going to bad mouth bowie. absurd comments. and as for vasquez playing point for montrose. i seriously doubt he played that position much or to any extent. vasquez handled the ball quite a bit and durant handled it a lot as well.

Criticizing Juan Dixon shows your lack of bball knowledge.–Are you nuts—2 Final Fours and 1 National Championship–Arguably the best guard ever to play at Maryland. NBA experience and you don’t think he can help Adrian. Stick to horse racing Freddie. Oh yea–NICE SECOND GUESS OF STU VETTER. HE IS ONLY ONE OF TOP HIGH SCHOOL COACHES IN THE COUNTRY BUT YOU KNOW MORE.

bruce..couple of things. one you read what you want to read rather than the entire body. juan dixon was a shooting guard. did not make the adjustment to point guard. doesn’t take anything away from what he accomplished at maryland but when he went pro he tried to become a point guard and didn’t make it. good point guards have an instinctive feel for the game. good passers have an instinctive feel for the game. watch video of juan. do you think he has passing skills like stave nash, chris paul, bird, vasquez, john wall. no he doesn’t. and he didn’t have the skills to play point guard effectively. if bowie wants to improve as a point guard he would be better off working with successful point guards. successful point guards can explain little nuances of the game to him that others who don’t play the position can’t. if i wanted to learn about pitching i’d find someone who was successful at pitching and could communicate his knowledge not someone who played second base well. if i wanted to learn how to ride a horse i’d go to someone who knows how to ride and knows how to teach riding. i wouldn’t go to someone who had expertise riding a motorcycle. as far as stu vetter. i said he probably wouldn’t bad mouth any of his players. like any coach he would be positive and wouldn’t say someone couldn’t handle the job even if he thought the player couldn’t. bruce your response was immature.
