I guess I will never get to see Caleb turn the corner and go for 6 for the Terps. Due to academic problems Porzel has left the team and the university. The following is from the Jeff Barker’s Tracking the Terps in the Sun:
Maryland running back Caleb Porzel is no longer enrolled at the the university and will transfer, an athletic department official confirmed Thursday. The official said Porzel’s decision was related to academics. A highly touted in-state recruit two years ago, Porzel appeared in seven games and started one as a true freshman for the Terps last season, running for 75 yards on 30 carries and zero touchdowns. Porzel was expected to split playing time with backup running backs Davin Meggett and D.J. Adams behind expected starter Da’Rel Scott this season.
