Starting Left Tackle Justin Gilbert Out For The Year

Starting Maryland left tackle Justin Gilbert is out for the season with a torn ACL, coach Ralph Friedgen said Tuesday, a setback for an offensive line that surrendered eight sacks against West Virginia and struggled with injuries and inexperience last season. “Justin was really playing very well for us. We were very pleased with him,” Friedgen said. “My major concern with losing an offensive lineman was being forced to play a redshirt freshman again.” Now Maryland will do just that. Friedgen said the Terps will shiftR.J. Dill to the left side to cover for Gilbert, and move redshirt freshman Pete DeSouza 6’6″ 310 lb into Dill’s spot on the right side. From Jeff Barker in the Sun

What is it with all the injuries to the Terrapins? Doesn’t it seem like there is an inordinate amount of injuries to this team?
