Syracuse’s Stall as Devised By Gary Gail Fails As #1 Maryland Holds on to a 7-5 Victory

No. 12 Syracuse tried its best to slow down No. 1 Maryland’s high-powered attack Saturday but the Terps were able to survive the stall and drop the Orange, 7-5. Maryland (7-0, 2-0 ACC) was held to its lowest scoring output in 2011 and was led by senior Tewaaraton nominee Sarah Mollison, who tallied a team-high two goals and two assists.Katie Schwarzmann, Karri Ellen Johnson, Kristy Black and Brandi Jones each added a goal and an assist as the Terps notched their 17th consecutive win and moved to 11-0 all-time against Syracuse.
