Cavanaugh on Koons Ford Terp Talk: “90% Chance Jordan Doesn’t Return”—My Advice–Jordan –PLEASE DON”T HIRE AN AGENT!!!!!

I guess I should have seen it coming but this hit me like a ton of bricks. Keith Cavanaugh was on the show last night for his monthly appearance and when I asked him about the future of Jordan Williams, without hesitation he said Jordan has decided that most likely even if he is a 2nd round pick he will be leaving College Park for the pros. It just seems to me to not make sense. If he was projected as a lottery pick or even a top 20. I certainly could understand. But with the possibility of being selected in the 2nd round there is the realization that one could never even play in the NBA. There is no roster guarantee, no guaranteed pay, nothing. another with Gary  and perhaps big improvement in the team would elevate his status in the draft. The consensus mock draft in nbadraft.net has Jordan going 54th in the 2nd round to Cleveland.

Jordan—DON”T HIRE AN AGENT!!!!!!!!. Test the wters –Get your feelers–1st do what you have to do. but PLEASE Don’t hire an agent!!!!!

why would he leave after so many flaws in his game were exposed in the latter part of the season? could it be grades? is he tired of being double teamed? hard to imagine any team taking him in the first round…but who knows darius heyward bey got 26 million and was taken in the top 5 or so.

First off Jordan Williams is not first round material. He needs to expand his game offensively and create a jump shot. Even if by very small chance he goes in the first round, he will not get paid as much as Darius got in Oakland. Besides something people have to consider that it may be no NBA next season because of the potential lockout.

@Freddy, 110% correct!!! He has to learn to hit free throws. At least one more year, to increase his draft status and playing summer league won’t solve that problem. He seems smart so I hope grades aren’t the issue as is greedy agents and friends telling him he’s worthy of being drafted in the first round. What was the guard that left Maryland early for the draft?? Don’t here name mentioned, but he had a great ACC tournament run…

Coach Williams set-up an appointment with Greivis Vasquez so Williams can see staying four years will not hurt your stock…
