Maryland placed eight players on the 2011 USILA Men’s Lacrosse All-America teams, which were announced Thursday. Leading the way were seniors Brian Farrell and Brett Schmidt, who earned second team honors as a long pole and defender, respectively. Senior attackman Ryan Young and junior midfielder Joe Cummings each earned third-team honors. Senior attackman Grant Catalino, sophomore midfielder John Haus, sophomore face-off man Curtis Holmes and senior defender Max Schmidt were honorable mention selections.
