First things first the Offensive Line long a weakness was superb last night.
Danny was 31-44 for 348 yards 1 TD and looked to be the field general I have been talking about.
Freddy correctly predicted that Kevin Dorsey would be the go to guy. 8 catches for 124 yes including the essential game winner for 52
Chism scored a TD caused a fumble that led to a TD by Joe Vellano, but also held on a third and 17 that led to a go ahead Miami FG.
Davin Meggett carried the rushing load —95 yards on 21 carries
The atmosphere created by the crowd was simply electric. I don’t know if that translated to TV but it was the most vociferous crowd thatbI can remember at Byrd for at least 0 years.
Lamar Miller has taken over the tradition of the great Miami RB –he certainly kept the U in the game.
I thought the Terps would have won easier and they might have save for Danny’s mistake of not running a TD in and Boykins dropped pass.
The new uni stole the show. Post game Edsall was proud of how there were no leaks whatsoever.
Danny was jubilant after the game but disappointed about the early mistake. The no huddle thoroughly confused Miami early as the Terps marched through the Canes easily. But to me the play of the game was the bomb to KD. The wind and rain made that pass much more difficult then it appeared on TV.
The recruits were everywhere–if they were not impressed Monday I’d be shocked.
Next up the Mountaineers a week from Saturday.
Much more about the game as the week progresses.

Terps land forward Jake Layman
On a night when Maryland’s football team made headlines with a nationally televised win over Miami, the Terps basketball program got some good news of its own.
Jake Layman, a 6-foot-8, 190-pound small forward from King Philip Regional High in Wrentham, Mass., committed to Maryland after an official visit to College Park, according to multiple media reports.
“I like Coach [Mark] Turgeon’s style of play, his offense is a good fit for me,” Layman told ESPNBoston.com. “The ACC is a good conference for me, too. I think it’s the most skilled conference in the country, I like it a lot. I’ve spent a lot of time with the players [on my visits], I know them real well, and they’re easy to talk to, so that’s good. Plus, I have the opportunity to be an impact player my freshman year.”
Layman, rated a four-star prospect and the No. 53 player in the 2012 class by ESPN.com, canceled visits to Florida, Louisville and Syracuse after deciding on the Terps. He is the third commitment of Maryland’s 2012 class, joining Seth Allen, a combo guard from Fredericksburg (Va.) Christian, and Shaquille Cleare, a center from The Village School in Houston. King Phillip coach Sean McInnis told Recruiting Report in July that Layman was a fan of Maryland’s coaching staff.
“Turgeon and [assistant coach Scott] Spinelli are two dynamic people,” McInnis said. “They are outstanding, family type of people. They do such a great job recruiting. They have been watching Jake and have been involved with Jake since [they were at Texas] A&M. They have been tremendous. They’re both tremendous people. Jake is extremely interested in Coach Turgeon as a person and a coach. He loves the Maryland area. His family has some very strong connections to the Maryland area.”
Check back with Recruiting Report on Tuesday for more on Layman’s commitment.
