Maryland’s Joe Vellanowas voted to the second team of the 2011 Walter Camp All-America team.
The Walter Camp Football Foundation made the announcement Thursday evening as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.
A two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference choice (second team in 2010; first team in 2011), Vellano posted 94 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, four pass breakups and two fumble recoveries this season.
“It’s a great honor be chosen for the Walter Camp team,” Vellano said. “I certainly want to thank my teammates and coaches who made it possible, as well as everyone who voted for me.”
