Jason Chimera, Troy Brouwer, and Mathieu Perrault never gave up in this contest. It was 57 minutes of pure frustration for the Caps as the Islander goalie stopped everything the Caps sent to the net. But in the final 3 minutes Brouwer scored twice setting up a not expected overtime.
Listen I am a novice when it comes to being a hockey fan. But tonight I witnessed pure greatness by #8 in overtime. All of the players on the ice were spectators to a glorious high speed, fluid skating, weaving and finally scoring effort by hockey’s best player. Not playing Ovie in an OT situation was probably what started the downfall for Bruce Boudreau. After watching him tonight, I now understand why!!!!
