Red White Spring Football Game Set For 1PM Saturday

 Maryland will hold its annual Red-White spring football game on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.

The game will complete the six-week spring practice period which includes 15 practices and got under way on March 10.

Admission to the game is free. Gates will open at 11 a.m.

 

Spring Game Information:

Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium Access: Gate F (West side) and Gate I (South side) will be open at 11 a.m. Concession stands will be open on the South side of the stadium (Tyser Tower side of Byrd). Click here for directions to Byrd.

Selection Saturday: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. fans will have an opportunity to select seats in our premium Mezzanine section or general public seating areas of the stadium for the 2012 season which features six home games. A variety of season-ticket options are available starting as low as $114. There are also family 4-packs available for $420 and season-ticket holders have the ability to spread their cost over six monthly installments. Members of the Terrapin Club and the Maryland Ticket Office will be stationed at Gate F (west side). Available seats to purchase as season tickets will be marked throughout the stadium. Game Format: The roster will be divided, with the Red team (defense) facing the White squad (offense) in a scrimmage-type setting. Each team will be able to score in a variety of ways: 

Offense
• Touchdown – 6 points
• Conversion – 1 or 2 points
• Field Goal – 3 points
• First Down – 1 point
• Run of 15 or more yards – 2 points
• Pass of 20 or more yards – 2 points

Defense
• Touchdown – 6 points
• Conversion – 1 or 2 points
• Turnover – 5 points
• Stop a Drive – 2 points
• Three-and-Out – 3 points
• Sack or a Tackle for Loss – 2 points
• Blocked Field Goal – 3 points

Radio Coverage: Game coverage will be available on WJZ 105.7 FM in Baltimore. The audio will also be streamed live over the internet. Click here listen to the free broadcast through Terps TV. Radio and streaming coverage begins at noon with the pregame show. Gary Stein (play-by-play), Jonathan Claiborne (color) and Tim Strachan (color) will call the action.
