Arrieta on Hot Seat: 5 Walks Give the Dodgers Victory 6-4

“I really didn’t feel like the Dodgers beat us today. I beat us. I put us in a tough situation,” said Arrieta, who lasted just four-plus innings, giving up two hits, five walks and five earned runs. “Not giving up many hits at all, just making their job a lot easier by putting them on base for free. It’s unacceptable. It’s not something that I’ve ever expected of myself. And it’s just bad. It’s bad.”

Even Buck was very negative about Jake’s performance. The O’s had a 4-1 lead and with the way the bullpen has been pitching victory seemed in reach. Just a terrible effort by Jake. LA’s 5 run 4th deflated the team and the crowd.

41,000 showed up an extremely cold day. Randy Edsall, a devout Oriole fan was in the house today in the club section.

The 8-11 Toronto Blue Jays come to town for the next 3 days. On Tuesday RA Dickey goes for Toronto.

arrieta pitched badly. mclouth dropped a catchable ball after mcfarland on an 0-2 pitch made a bad pitch to gonzalez. he also threw a wild pitch. the bullpen didn’t do their job. wieters and manny left men on in scoring position. a loss. the o’s took 2 out of 3 and that’s they way you have to look at things. keep winning series. you’re not going to win every game.
