Drakeford became a starter at Maryland during his junior season. As a senior, he tied for eighth in the ACC with 0.55 sacks per game and tied for sixth in the ACC with two forced fumbles. The Washington, D.C., native finished 2012 tied for first on the Terps in sacks (6.0), second in tackles for loss (49) and fifth in tackles (49)

Vellano signed with the Patriots Monday after anchoring the Maryland defensive line for three seasons. A three-time All-ACC Choice and All-American in 2011, the Rexford, N.Y., native finished his senior season ranked fifth in the ACC and tied for 42nd nationally with 1.17 tackles for loss per game.
